Lewis Dahl (1863-1925) and Anna Grensbråten (1869-1943) , were married on November 21, 1892, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs Ole O. Hilde. Anna had emigrated from Norway, along with a brother, earlier that year. She had been working at the home Lewis’s parents.
Lewis (born Lauritz Hansen Dal) had also emigrated from Norway with his parents and siblings in 1867. He had taken a tree claim in Rockwell Township in Norman County, Minnesota, near his parents, brothers and sisters. He and Anna improved this tract of land in the years after their wedding, so pursuant to the Homestead Act of 1862, Laurits H. Dahl was granted the property by the United States on September 25, 1896, as seen in this Land Grant Document. And this 1910 MAP of Rockwell Township shows “L H Dahl” listed as a property owner in Section 30.
Their farm near Borup, Minnesota, is where they raised 10 children: Minnie Annette, Henry Oscar, Clara Otelia, Anton Leonard, Emma Carol, Marie Magdeline, Theodore Melvin, Inga Jeanette, Luella Alice, and Myrtle Ovidia. The US and Minnesota State Censuses for 1895, 1900, 1905, 1910, and 1920 all show Lauritz (Lewis) and Anna and their children living in Rockwell Township in Norman County. Although Lewis died in 1925, the 1930 and 1940 Censuses show Anna remaining on the farm.

They were devout followers of Jesus Christ and faithful members of the Jevnaker Lutheran Church.
Lewis died July 17, 1925 and Anna died March 7, 1943. Burial for each of them was in the Jevnaker cemetery.
