Cheryl JoAnn Fetting was born April 6, 1938, in Ada, Minnesota, the daughter of Rudolph and Ellen Fetting. The 1940 census record lists her living in Lake Ida Township, Norman County, Minnesota, with her parents, two older sisters, and a hired farm hand. In the 1950 census the family is living on a farm in Winchester Township in the same county.
Vernon and Cheryl were married June 15, 1957 at First Lutheran Church in Ada, Minnesota. MOMS (Minnesota Official Marriage System) confirms this marriage date and lists their names and Marriage Certificate Number (15-079) in Norman County.

She was baptized on June 18, 1938, and confirmed on May 17, 1953, both at First Lutheran Church, Ada. Cheryl grew up in Ada where she attended Ada Public Schools. On June 15, 1957, Cheryl was united in marriage to Vernon Rage in Ada. They had been married for 53 years. Cheryl worked on the family farm and enjoyed time raising her kids and making meals, baking cookies, bars and making Lefse, jellies and canning just about anything she could share with others. Cheryl was a lifetime member Grace Lutheran Church, IXL 4H Club, and also served as project and Key Leader. She showed Guernsey Pure Bred Cattle as a 4H member and was a member of the Helping Hands Social Club. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Vernon, four children, five grandchildren, one sister, and numerous nephews and nieces. Excerpts from obituary Vernon L. Rage, 87, Ada, MN, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada. Vernon LeRoy Rage was born on May 7,1934 to Selmer and Emma (Dahl) Rage just west of Ada in the house he lived in for 86 years. He was confirmed at First Lutheran Church and graduated from Ada High School. After graduating, he continued farming the family farm. On the farm, he raised small grains and corn and milk cows. Vernon had many other smaller jobs including working at Ada Produce and Kelly’s Chrysler. Vernon and his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Fetting, were married on June 15, 1957, at First Lutheran Church. To this marriage four children were born Vernon enjoyed farming, planting his garden, fishing and reading. His biggest joy was his family and attending many activities they were involved in. Vernon’s faith was very strong, He attended Bible studies and church services regularly. He also served on the board of trustees at the church. He will be remembered for his kindheartedness and sense of humor, always. Vernon in survived by his four children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; parents, Selmer and Emma; and one brother, Jerome (Una). Funeral: 1:00 PM, Wednesday,November 10, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
