
Charley (Carl) Dahlgren, son of Olof & Helena Dahlgren, was born on June 1, 1888, in Norra Transtrand, Dahlby Parish, Värmland, Sweden. He was baptized on July 1, 1888.
In 1890 he left Sweden with his mother and two older brothers to meet up with his father who had migrated to America the previous year. The family united in Minnesota, ending up in Roseau County.

His name is listed with other family members in census records from Malung, Roseau County, Minnesota, in 1895, 1900, and 1905.
In 1908, when he was 19 years old, Charlie and his brother Oscar, contracted scarlet fever. Oscar survived, but Charlie did not. He died on March 9, 1908. His body was buried in the Malung Cemetery in Roseau County.
